Hi,

After having downloaded a new version of LogMX, how should I upgrade my existing install?

Which file(s) should I replace, and which file(s) should I preserve if I don't want to lost my config and my parsers?

thanks

Hello,

You should not try to "upgrade" your current version, but use the new one with your current config/preferences files.
Here are the files/folders you may not want to lose:
  • "config/" directory => preferences (including parsers/managers list, license file, and all other preferences)
  • "parsers/" directory => your java-class parsers
  • "managers/" directory => your java-class managers
  • "logmx.bat", "logmx.sh", or "launcher.cfg" files => (if you have modified them) additional JARs for parsers/managers in classpath, tuned amount of RAM allowed with -Xmx, or special path to a JRE
Simply copy these files/folders in your new LogMX directory.
