Create installation document

Post by isheedm »

Please create an installation document that is distributed with your software and is easily found on the website. It can be a simple text file if necessary. Some IT support people at my company get this software and don't know what to do with it. I know there is a forum post that says to simply "unzip" it somewhere, but it is too hard to find for a busy IT person who wants to get it installed and move on without having to think too hard.

Also, add detailed instructions on how to obtain a license file and what to do with it (with examples of the format). Again, the license file might be passed down through multiple layers of people and by the time it reaches a tech, he doesn't know what to do.

Hello,

The next version (v2.0.0) will come with a "Readme.txt" file in the LogMX root directory, which will contain (among other sections) an "Installation" section.

OK for the license file, you're right, we will add the following indication in the License file:
To activate your LogMX Professional version, simply copy this file in the 'config/' directory of LogMX Professional.
Thanks,
Xavier
